Head of Development

Are you an experienced Head of Development looking to make generational lasting effects on positive World Change with your skillset?

If so, our start-up OHANA™ is looking for a well-versed Head of Development who will be one of our main go-to experts and play an integral role in setting the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth.

In this position, you will oversee our overall technology development and technology utilization plan an manage all information technology resources of our company.

We’re after a Head of Development who can provide technical hands-on leadership. The ideal applicant will have an organized and creative mindset that drives him or her to find innovative solutions to common problems.

Head of Development responsibilities and duties:

Developing the company's strategy for using technological resources. Ensuring technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely. Evaluating and implementing new systems and infrastructure.

  • Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments
  • Build and Integrate our technology platforms and create and monitor plans for each
  • Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics
  • Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity
  • Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture

 

The role of our Head of Development is crucial for success of our tech start-up − the Head of Development manages all technology-related issues and makes sure the company's software product solves problems for the target audience.

 

Required and preferred skills for the Head of Development role:

  • Previous working experience as a Head of Development for minimum 3 years
  • MA in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar relevant field
  • In-depth knowledge of web, app and mobile operating systems architecture, design and development
  • Preferred 10+ years’ software, mobile OS engineering and IT experience
  • Ability to Set and Execute the OHANA™ Vision
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Listening, Diplomacy and Patience, People Skills, Mentoring, Understanding of Customer Service
  • Strategic Thinking
  • Proactive problem solver, strong attention to details
  • Proven track record of success in leadership positions
  • Familiarity with marketing platforms, programs and policies
  • Familiar with Privacy and Security Architecture & Management
  • Extensive experience with MVC frameworks
  • Exceptional project management and organization skills
  • Hands on experience with complex project management
  • Effective Hiring, Coding
  • Effective negotiation and vendor management skills

Preferred Tech Stack knowledge set:

  • Kubernetes
  • Angular
  • TypeScript
  • PostgreSQL
  • Laravel
  • PHP
  • HTML5/CSS3
  • Docker
  • Android / Java
  • Knowledge of IBM Cloud would be great – but not essential
